Abstract
BACKGROUND: Short-term OE (oleoyl-estrone) treatment causes significant decreases in rat weight mainly due to adipose tissue loss. The aim of this work was to determine if OE treatment affects the expression of genes that regulate lipid metabolism in white adipose tissue.Entities:

The expression of each gene is reported as the ratio of the value obtained after each treatment relative to control after normalization of the data.
Figure 1Quantization of HSL, ACC, FAS, and CPT1b by real-time PCR in samples of mesenteric white adipose tissue of treated rats during 48-hours with OE. The results express the levels of mRNA, corrected by cyclophilin values and expressed as a percentage of controls. Results express the means ± SEM of 4 different experiments. Asterisks indicate differences from controls: * P < 0.05.
