Abstract
This paper summarizes some of the key differences between self-expanding and balloon-expanding stents, aligning engineering and design differences with clinical performance. While neither type of stent can be considered universally superior, the differences are significant enough to make each type more appropriate in specific circumstances. Many of the differences concern long-term outcome, for which there is still insufficient data.Entities:
