Abstract
Following the report of a working party of the Royal College of Physicians in July 1987, a decision was taken to make the skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation mandatory for entrants to the College. The options for introducing this criterion are discussed, including the ultimate decision reached by the Examination Board to accept presentation of a certificate of competence by candidates on application to take the examination.Mesh:
