Abstract

We report a case of axillary recurrence after sentinel node biopsy without axillary lymph node dissection in a patient with breast cancer. A hot and dye-stained node was identified at the primary operation and then at the time of axillary recurrence. Sentinel node biopsy is a promising alternative to axillary lymph node dissection in patients with breast cancer because of the low associated incidence of axillary recurrence.
