[Recurrent disc herniation during chronic pain therapy].

M Lorenz1.

Abstract

Patients receiving ongoing palliative pain therapy, either by intrathecal morphine application or a spinal cord stimulation system (SCS), should obtain functional tests of the implant and new diagnostic imaging if new symptoms of lumbar pain of changed quality appear. Six cases are presented in which a further operation of a recurrent disc herniation resulted in a significant reduction of preoperative complaints.
