Abstract
A procedure is described whereby the growth stimulatory material from an autoclaved solution of glucose and phosphate can routinely be purified 689-fold. Chemical characterization of this purified material indicates the presence of a hydroxyl group and possibly a carboxyl group on the active factor(s) which are associated with activity. Evidence is presented that there are two active factors or two forms of the same factor present in the concentrate.Entities:
