Abstract
Amiodarone causes thyrotoxicosis in 3% of US patients who use it. Two types of amiodarone-induced thyrotoxicosis are recognized, designated type 1 and type 2, based on whether or not the patient had a preexisting thyroid disorder. Distinguishing between the two can be difficult, but it is important for providing appropriate therapy promptly.Entities:
