Abstract
A new armoury of protein purification tools is required to support rapid advances in high-throughput genomics and proteomics, which are predicted to lead to the discovery, isolation, characterisation and manufacture of a number of new biopharmaceutical proteins. Computer-aided molecular design, combinatorial (bio)chemistry and high-throughput screening techniques are now being exploited to identify highly selective ligands for use in the purification of these proteins by affinity chromatography.Mesh:
