Abstract
A large variety of neurosensory testing modalities have been used to evaluate skin sensitivity of the lower lip and chin after sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible. In this study we compared purely clinical impressions of the sensitivity of the lower lip and chin with objective assessments of it. The examination modalities included visual analogue scale, light-touch perception, and perception thresholds of warm and cold temperatures. The results indicate that there is a relatively good positive correlation between subjective evaluation and objective assessment of the sensitivity of the lower lip and chin after sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible.Entities:
