Articular interposition of trochanteric wires in a failed total hip replacement.

J L Bronson.

Abstract

This is a case report of a previously unrecorded complication of trochanteric osteomy in a total hip arthroplasty. The trochanteric wire fixation failed and wire fragments migrated from the osteotomy site into the joint space. Revision total arthroplasty was elected. An additional potential complication of trochanteric osteotomy is noted.
