Abstract
A series of monocyclic amidinohydrazones 2a-h was prepared from the reaction of N-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-N-(2-hydroxy-ethyl) hydrazine hydroiodide 1 with various aromatic aldehydes. Some of them were subjected to an esterification with acetic anhydride to give 2a-d. Compounds 2a,c,d,e,f,h and 3c were tested for their anticancer and anti-HIV activity.Entities:
