A fresh look at the intrinsic muscles of the back.

J V Basmajian.

Abstract

The surgical anatomy of the intrinsic muscles of the back is easy to remember if the approach is systematic. There is a plan to the arrangement which can be easily learned. Without such a plan, the area will always remain a "no-man's land" for physicians and surgeons, even those who deal with many back problems.
