Optimizing the intervention in research studies.

A J Clark1.

Abstract

One of the many challenges of nursing intervention studies is to assure that significant effects of the intervention are detected in the research. Optimizing the intervention in the design of the study can increase the potential for finding positive outcomes, if they are, in fact, present. Attending to the operationalization, strength, integrity, and timing of the intervention, as well as to the contrast between the treatment and control groups, can optimize the intervention in intervention research.
