Complications of transhiatal esophagectomy.

S K Gandhi1, K S Naunheim.

Abstract

THE is accompanied by significant operative morbidity. Most complications, however, are not life-threatening and, overall, this method of esophageal resection is safe, expeditious, effective, and physiologically well tolerated for patients with benign esophageal disease and for patients with cancer of the esophagus.
