Abstract
For over 100 years, binocular rivalry was seen as the result of competition between the two eyes, involving reciprocal suppression of retinal inputs. Now it emerges that rivalry reflects alternating perceptual interpretations that are represented in the firing patterns of cells in the temporal visual cortex.Mesh:
