Abstract
The management of thromboembolic complications remains one of the most controversial issues in the care of patients with pelvic and acetabular fractures. Recent studies have indicated that the incidence of proximal deep vein thrombosis is much higher than was previously believed. These patients should be managed with a formal institutional protocol that includes universal prophylaxis, supplemented in some cases by screening for deep vein thrombosis.Entities:
