Abstract
Valproic acid is an antiepileptic drug in widespread use. The possibility of various hematologic side effects with this drug is well recognized. We describe a breast-fed infant with thrombocytopenic purpura, anemia, and reticulocytosis, whose mother was treated with valproic acid. As the mother stopped breast-feeding, the infant recovered.Entities:
