Abstract
Growth factors applied topically to wounds can accelerate healing by stimulating granulation tissue formation and enhancing epithelialization. This has been suggested by several different studies of topically applied growth factors. It is clear, however, that topical growth factor therapy should not be considered as a substitute for good wound care, including surgical debridement or revascularization.Mesh:
