Abstract
Certain defects of the rotator cuff musculotendinous units cannot be repaired. If restoration of strength is an important treatment goal, then tendon transfers must be considered for palliation. In this article, the anatomical and physiological bases for tendon transfers are discussed, and currently known results with this form of treatment are reviewed.Mesh:
