Mystery of QTc interval dispersion.

M Malik, A J Camm.

Abstract

Reporting QTc dispersion values without paying attention to the original QT dispersion values and to the heart rate may be seriously misleading because differences in QTc dispersion between clinically well-defined populations may only be caused by differences in the underlying heart rate. This is demonstrated by showing the significant differences in "heart-rate corrected" length of the surname between long-term survivals and nonsurvival patients of acute myocardial infarction.
