Abstract
In this review, we discuss the progress of the last few years in the genetic analysis of the susceptibility to melanoma. The inclusion of dysplastic nevi in the analysis of susceptibility, although appropriate conceptually, has not greatly clarified the picture of genetic susceptibility to melanoma. One predisposing gene has clearly been linked to chromosome 9 while a second linkage to chromosome 1 is still uncertain. A gene, CDKN2, is an appealing candidate for melanoma susceptibility.Entities:
