Abstract
The spindle assembly checkpoint monitors proper chromosome attachment to spindle microtubules and is conserved from yeast to humans. Checkpoint components reside on kinetochores of chromosomes and show changes in phosphorylation and localization as cells proceed through mitosis. Adaptation to prolonged checkpoint arrest can occur by inhibitory phosphorylation of Cdc2.Entities:
