Abstract
Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein DNA polymerase that elongates telomeres in eukaryotes. The telomere hypothesis implicates short telomere length and telomerase activation as critical players in cellular immortalization and cancer. In this review, we refine the original telomere hypothesis to address the results of recent studies on telomerase and telomere length regulation.Entities:
