Abstract
We report on the results of a one-year, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group titration study of the new sulfonylurea agent, glimepiride, versus use of non-micronized glyburide to treat 577 patients with non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). Similar decreases in both fasting plasma glucose and HbA1C were found using glimepiride and glyburide. There was a lower incidence of hypoglycemia with glimepiride than glyburide.Entities:
