Abstract
Five patients survived acute paraquat ingestion, despite developing restrictive pulmonary dysfunction. Of these, 2 patients with documented long-term follow-up had progressive functional improvement. A literature review revealed 29 other patients surviving restrictive pulmonary dysfunction following acute paraquat poisoning. Some patients who survive an acute paraquat poisoning may develop pulmonary fibrosis, yet progressively improve over time.Entities:
