Usefulness of rectal biopsy in inflammatory bowel disease.

Abstract

With careful "standardized" technique and proper handling, rectal biopsies can be useful diagnostic and therapeutic adjuncts in the initial evaluation and then long term observation of patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease.
