Recurrence of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus after transient neonatal diabetes: a report of two cases.

D Weimerskirch1, D J Klein.

Abstract

Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus developed in two patients with transient neonatal diabetes after more than 5 years without insulin therapy. The absence of islet cell antibodies and of the typical HLA types suggests that they may have a nonimmunologic form of diabetes.
