Abstract
Clinical depression frequently goes unrecognized and undertreated, yet it is eminently treatable. It is not an inevitable consequence of terminal illness in the cognitively intact patient--the majority of patients with advanced malignant disease are not depressed. This review examines the epidemiology, causes and treatment of depression in the terminally ill.Entities:
