Metallothionein synthesis as an indication of the parenchymal origin of cells cultured from liver.

M R Daniel, M Webb, M Cempel.

Abstract

A line of cell derived from pig liver has been shown to retain the ability to synthesize zinc-thionein and to respond to Cd2+ with a greatly increased metallothionein synthesis, a property specific for liver and kidney parenchymal cells.
