Abstract
Millions of individuals with osteoarthritis have experienced relief of joint pain and improvement in mobility as a result of taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These agents are currently considered the drug of choice for treatment of osteoarthritis (OA). Despite their efficacy and nearly universal use in OA, the role of NSAIDs in managing this disorder recently has become controversial.
