Abstract
Clinical observations and animal models show that cell-mediated immunity (CMI) is an important host defense mechanism against Candida albicans infections. In HIV-infected patients, a switch from TH1- to TH2-type CMI responses correlates with the progression to AIDS, and may also increase susceptibility to mucosal candidiasis.Entities:
