Abstract

Vertebral arteriovenous fistulae in patients with neurofibromatosis 1 (von Recklinghausen's disease) are rare. The mechanism of their formation is unclear. The vascular anatomy, which may be simple or complex has important implications for planning treatment. We describe two cases and review the literature.
