A better form of treatment? Comparison of wool and crepe, and elasticated tubular bandages in the treatment of ankle sprains.

K Tufft, A Leaman.

Abstract

1. The pressure exerted by two types of bandage used to treat sprained ankles were compared in a study. 2. Wool and crepe bandages exert more pressure than elasticated tubular bandage, but this advantage is likely to be short lived. 3. Neither bandage exerts significant pressure over the sprained ligament.
