Abstract
The plasma membrane has been shown to play a critical role in the regulation of cell growth and proliferation, and pathologic change in the plasma membrane has been detected in neoplastic cells. This article reviews the structure and functions of biological membranes and discusses the differences that have been reported in the plasma membranes of normal and malignant cells that may be associated with neoplastic transformation.Mesh:
