Comparison of methods for differentiating among Serratia marcescens isolated from clinical specimens.

E Roemisch, F E Kocka.

Abstract

Serotyping, biotyping and antibiotic resistance patterns were found to give consistent results for routine hospital surveillance of Serratia marcescens isolates. Bacteriocin typing showed variation between trials and was considered too variable and time-consuming for routine hospital surveillance.
