Thoracoscopic cardiomyotomy for achalasia of the cardia: early results.

R Foley1, W Brough.

Abstract

A thoracoscopic technique of Heller's procedure for achalasia of the cardia is described. The operation has been performed on five patients with excellent symptomatic results. There were no complications. All patients went home on the 3rd postoperative day and returned to work within 2 weeks of the procedure.
