Abstract
Several potential mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance have been identified in adult solid tumors. The multidrug resistance (MDR) phenotype is one mechanism by which tumors may simultaneously develop resistance to multiple chemotherapeutic agents and is associated with P-glycoprotein expression. In this article, the authors examine the literature and summarize the various techniques used to measure MDR1 gene expression, patterns of expression in adult solid tumors.Entities:
