Abstract
The first 12 enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of vitamin B12 from its five-carbon precursor, aminolevulinic acid, have been overexpressed in recombinant strains of Escherichia coli. The activity of each enzyme has been demonstrated by the biosynthesis of hydrogenobyrinic acid from aminolevulinic acid.Entities:
