Abstract
Anti-human immunodeficiency virus type 1 immunoglobulin G in urine was detected by an immunoassay with reverse transcriptase as the antigen and beta-D-galactosidase as the label; this immunoassay was 30-fold more sensitive than the previous immunoassay with peroxidase as the label. The sensitivity and specificity were both 100%. The lowest signal for asymptomatic carriers was 20-fold higher than the highest signal for seronegative subjects.Entities:
