Cerebral hemorrhage in alloimmune thrombocytopenia.

L M Dean1, M McLeary, G A Taylor.

Abstract

Intracranial hemorrhages are rare in term infants. We describe such an infant born with multiple foci of intraparenchymal hemorrhage in various stages of maturation, caused by maternal platelet-specific anti-PlA1 antibodies that were delivered transplacentally to the developing fetus.
