Abstract
Neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia is caused by the transplacental passage of maternal antibodies directed against platelet-specific antigens. Because complications from bleeding may result, prompt institution of therapy may be necessary. Accurate diagnosis by serologic techniques permits appropriate therapy to be administered both prenatally and postnatally.Entities:
