False-positive results in dynamic MR mammography. Causes, frequency, and methods to avoid.

W A Kaiser1.

Abstract

Numerous studies have shown that MR mammography (MRM) yields the highest sensitivity in the diagnosis of early and small breast cancers. The multifocality of breast cancers can be recognized only with MRM. This article evaluates the false-positive results of dynamic MRM. The causes of false diagnoses are also examined and ways to avoid them are suggested.
