[Transurethral ureteroscopy. A current urological procedure].

E Pérez-Castro Ellendt, J A Martínez-Piñeiro.

Abstract

The authors present a new ureterorenoscope, based on conventional cytoscopy, with the appropriate modifications required due to the anatomical, ureteral shape. They also consider the production of an intraureteral resector. Its present possibilities are: a) Diagnostic ureteroscopy. b) Selective, ureteral cytology. c) Intraureteral biopsy. d) Removal of ureteral lithiasis with direct viewing (Dormia, Zeiss). e) Intraureteral electrocoagulation. Its future possibilities are: a) Intraureteral lithotricia. b) Intraureteral resection. Its advantages are: a) Low price. b) Easy handling. c) Perfect view. d) Possibility of filming, television or photography. e) Minimal risk of mechanical faults.
