An audit of prescribing by peer review.

P M Reilly, M P Patten.

Abstract

This study describes how a group of general practitioners were made aware of their own prescribing habits. This was done by analysing carbon copies of prescriptions and reporting the analysis to a meeting of the doctors. The effects of this knowledge on subsequent prescribing were monitored.
