Abstract
The prognosis depends upon timely surgical intervention. Contusions and hematomas of the pancreas are treated through abdominal drainage. Pancreatic duct lesions require resection or pancreaticojejunostomy. Fresh duodenal perforations may be treated by primary suture. In cases of extensive tears, partial gastrectomy combined with selective vagotomy may be the surgical treatment of choice, in rare cases, duodenopancreatectomy. Conservative or surgical treatment of the duodenal hematoma will depend entirely upon the clinical picture.Entities:
