A disabling sports injury of the great toe.

Abstract

An unusual and disabling sports injury of the hallux is described. This consisted of a torn lateral conjoined tendon, capsule, and collateral ligaments, causing varus metatarsophalangeal instability. The surgical treatment is described along with the follow-up evaluation.
