Structure of an (A-blood-group)-active glycolipid isolated from human erythrocytes.

Abstract

An (A-blood-group)-active glycolipid possessing 23 sugars has been isolated, from human erythrocyte membrane. Smith degradation and methylation studies allow a structure to be proposed of the nonreducing end of the oligosaccharide chain.
