Fascicular nerve suture.

J R Urbaniak.

Abstract

Fascicular and group fascicular repairs have limited application. Standard epineurial repair is suggested for most severed peripheral nerves. However, fascicular and group fascicular repairs are beneficial and even preferred in certain types of nerve injuries. To apply these methods effectively, the surgeon must understand the internal anatomy of the individual peripheral nerve, possess the proper microsurgical equipment and suture material, and be skilled in the microsurgical technique.
