Conjunctival changes associated with inflammatory disease of the bowel.

Abstract

Three patterns of conjunctival change are associated with chronic inflammatory bowel disease: granulomatous; papillary hypertrophy with fibrovascular membrane formation; pyoblepharo-conjunctivitis with eosinophilic microabscesses. Immune factors play a part in their causation.
