Abstract
Thirty consecutive patients receiving intravenous feeding according to a standard protocol were studied for possible central vein thrombosis by contrast venography. Twenty-two patients had contrast venograms and 6 venograms revealed significant thrombus. Only 1 patient had any clinical evidence of thrombosis. It is suggested that prophylaxis of central vein thrombosis should be standard with intravenous feeding.Entities:
